Established 1986 - A Legacy of Academic Excellence
Sultan Qaboos University was established by Royal Decree in 1986 as the first and largest public university in the Sultanate of Oman. Named after the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the university embodies his vision of education as the foundation for national development.
Today, SQU stands as a beacon of knowledge, research, and innovation in the region, offering world-class education through its nine colleges spanning diverse fields including medicine, engineering, science, education, arts, agriculture, nursing, economics, and law.
